My, I have been quiet.

Well, I've been moderately interested in quite a few developments, but now theres enough stuff to put my raving hat on (it's an Akubra. Go Aussie! Hmm, guess you don't know what an Akubra is. It's like Crocodile Dundee's hat except not scaly.) and post again.

E3 will no longer be the awesome, cool, awesome, sweet, fun (did I say awesome?) event that it has been. The major developers who want to spend the money on 'games production' say that E3 is, quite simply, not worth what they pay. If they spent the money on games, I'd be thrilled, but I really think that they won't do that.

Vista is going to have an inbuilt recovery tool - sure you couldn't delete a file and have someone half competent recover it, but now anyone can do it, including your boss. This wouldn't work for me anyway (my supervisor is an ITT at 3 schools) but it is sad to see that so many of you won't be able to 'accidentally' delete that work. Unless of course....*whisper* change the file over and over or just turn it off.

Not much else to say really...poor hat, he usually sits in a closet.

As a thought, did you know the word 'terrific' derives from 'terror'?No, really, it's true. Honestly. I have a quote here that sums it up perfectly -

Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvellous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.
No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.
-Terry Pratchett, Lords and Ladies

The story concerns the people of a small kingdom who have remembered all the old tales and words, but somehow construe elves as beautiful. Plus, of course, I've been waiting ages to insert a Pterry quote.
I'm off. Cya!
